Jennings Public Schools is a growing PK-8 dependent district located in Pawnee County. We have approximately 305 students, 20 teachers, and 23 support employees. The two documents linked below will provide parents with a lot of information about what Jennings Public Schools has to offer.

Senate Bill 783 regarding Open Transfers for Students went into effect on January 1, 2022. Below you will information regarding this law as well as district policy pertaining to this policy.     1. Complete and submit an Online Open Transfer Application (Available on June 1) or a Paper/Pencil Open Transfer Application to Jennings Public Schools. It may be faxed to 877-549-7011, emailed to dmeador@jennings.k12.ok.us, or dropped off at the main office during school hours. The completed application will be stamped with the date and time upon receiving it. Please note that the application requires the parent/guardian to request their child’s State Testing Number (STN) from the sending school district. In addition, if the student is on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) you must obtain the IEP date from the sending school as well.
    2. Contact Derrick Meador, Superintendent at 918-757-2536 for questions regarding a transfer to Jennings Public Schools.
       
    3. A separate application will need to be completed and submitted for each student requesting to transfer to Jennings Public Schools. Please note that each student is evaluated for a transfer individually and not as a family.
       
    4. If applying for a transfer within the current school year, Jennings Public Schools will have three days from receiving the application to make a transfer decision. During this time, they will be contacting the sending district to request student attendance and student discipline records. If the student requesting a transfer is on an IEP, our special education director will be contacting the sending district’s special education director to discuss the specific needs of the students in accordance with our Special Education Transfer Policy. If applying for a transfer for the next school year, Jennings Public Schools cannot officially except the transfer until after July 1 of that year. However, the earlier the transfer application is turned in the more likely it will be accepted after that date.
    5. If a transfer is denied due to grade level capacity, the parent can opt to place the student on a waiting list. Parents will be contacted in the order applications were received when spots become available at that grade level.
       
    6. Parents have the right to appeal the superintendent’s decision regarding a denied transfer application in accordance to our Student Transfer Policy.
    7. Transfers are valid for one school calendar year. They may be automatically renewed annually. However, the superintendent can opt to non-renew a transfer for the upcoming year for a student who has documented attendance and/or discipline issues in accordance with our local policy.
